Sweetheart Brunch Save the Date: Attention men of the church! The Membership Committee needs your help preparing a Sweetheart Brunch for our ladies of the church on Sun., Feb 12. We will need help setting up (Sat., Feb. 11), serving, cleaning up and donating your favorite dish. The menu will be breakfast casseroles, fruits, muffins, coffee and punch. The topic is “Jesus Teaches Us to Pray” Matthew 6:9-15. Discusses how to pray and live out our prayers in the assurance of God’s grace. Child Protection. SOUPER Bowl of Caring! NEXT SUNDAY, February 5th is our Souper Bowl of Caring. Please plan on bringing a can of soup or giving a check to help stock the NKCS food pantry to feed our neighbors! Church Wide and Officer Training Retreat! You are invited to a retreat here at North Kent Presbyterian on February 4th from 9 am to 1:30 pm. We will be reviewing who we are as Presbyterians, the role of elder and deacon, our history here at NKPC and how we are structured. After an agape meal for lunch we will do some visioning about the future together. Please let the office know if you plan on attending. Thrive: a Refugee Support Program A volunteer informational meeting Thursday, February 2nd from 5pm to 6pm at John Knox Presbyterian Church (4150 Kalamazoo Ave, SE). If you would like to attend, we will be carpooling from the church. Please let Ruth Waybrant know if you are coming, and be in the church parking lot at 3:55pm - we will leave at 4pm. The new hymnals are being purchased. The challenge Dennis presented of matching funds up to $625 has been met. 110 hymnals, some with large print, will be ordered by Pastor Karen.

Presbyterian Women will meet after church services today in the sanctuary. We will look at how to distribute funds for mission from our treasury, which has approximately $1500. Any other items you would like to bring for discussion are welcome. All women of the church are invited to participate. Children.
