LENT 2018 Book Study: Christianity for the Rest of Us This lent, you are invited to read and explore themes of prayerful contemplation and spiritual growth practices! Grow spiritually in new ways this Lent! 2/18: Discernment & Contemplation (Contemplative & Examen Prayer) 2/25: Reflection & Study (Lectio Divina Prayer) 3/4: Worship & Beauty (Psalms & Music) 3/11: Healing, Hospitality & Diversity (Healing & 12 Step Prayer) 3/18: Testimony & Justice (Intercessory Prayer) TROUBLED WATERS: A COMMUNITY WORSHIP SERVICE OF LISTENING, LAMENT AND HOPE On Sunday, March 18th at 4 pm, the community is invited to this service at Blythefield CRC church at 6350 Kuttshill Rd. Watching and hearing the deep concern and widespread effects regarding the contaminated water in our communities, we are coming together as concerned clergy and churches to bring this troubled matter to God in prayer. By hearing the stories of affected persons, hearing the words of Scripture, through song and prayer, we will lament the layers of trouble that are coming to light and pray together for God's help and healing. All are warmly welcomed. News from the Mission Committee: Forty Days-Forty Items! Last Wednesday was the first day of Lent. Your Mission Committee has a challenge for you! Each day until Easter, we want you to remove one item from your closet or jewelry box and place it in this clear trash bag. At the end of Lent, bring the bag to church. We will donate them to either the Working Women’s Closet at the Women’s Resource Center or to the North Kent Community Services. They will be shared with someone who can really use them! And… as usual during this Season of Lent, we will be filling those fish banks with tokens of our own good fortune to benefit those less fortunate than we. The One Great Hour of Sharing special offering helps fund programs from as near as Detroit to as far away as India and Nepal. You can add coins to your bank by following the giving calendar on the table in the Narthex or by going online. Please take time to look over the inserts included in Sunday’s bulletin. Thank you. CAMP GREENWOOD Let's send our kids to Camp! Our recent matching fund drive to become a partner with the camp was a success! Because of our partnership, we will now receive 10 % off of our camper registrations. This means that the same amount of money we raised last year will send more kids to camp! If you would like to help send our NKPC kids to camp, please mark your check for Greenwood scholarships. Camp Greenwood Forever!
