Christmas Decorating SUNDAY after worship! Today is the first Sunday of Advent and it is time to decorate the church in preparation for Christmas! You are invited to a light lunch after worship and then to lend your energy to making our space festive and bright! NEW MEMBERS will be joining during worship on December 9th. PLEASE remember to wear your name tags to help them feel welcome here at NKPC! CONGREGATIONAL MEETING. A congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, December 9th to finalize the 2019 budget. Please plan to stay for this meeting following the worship service at approximately 12 p.m. BUCKS FOR BIRDS: Each year we collect money to purchase holiday food baskets for our neighbors in need. That money is donated to the North Kent Connect who are able to make the purchases in bulk and at a discount, enough to serve 2000 clients. Christmas delivery will be December 16. Please give generously. WINTER WARMTH TREE: Please help fill the Winter Warmth Tree! We will collect new clothing (hats, mittens, scarves, PJ’s, socks, undies, sweat shirts, etc.) until December 16 and then refill the tree with gently used items until January 8. All items will go to North Kent Connect. HOLIDAY CONCERT! Rockford Holiday Concert on today at 3 pm in the Rockford High School Auditorium. Admission is FREE. THE WORLD FAMOUS NKPC COOKIE WALK WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15. TIME TO START BAKING! The church doors open to the public at 9 am. Volunteers are needed for set up on Friday night and to help with the cookie sale on Saturday. Please volunteer and register your cookie pledge in the Narthex. SANTA CLAUS GIRLS DELIVERY DRIVERS NEEDED! You are invited to come join the fun and help deliver Christmas presents to children on December 15th! The Santa Claus girls of Grand Rapids are at it again and we are coordinating the drivers for Northern Kent County. If you have an hour or two at 9 am on 12/15 please contact Pastor Karen! CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP AND COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS PARTY! Monday, December 24th we will join together for a Christmas Eve Service: Lessons, Carols and Communion at 7 PM. Afterwards, everyone is invited to a Community Christmas Party in Fellowship Hall at approximately 8 pm. Bring some food to share and come celebrate the birth of the Christ child with us! We have committed ourselves to joining with the United States World War One Centennial Commission by ringing our bells 21 times at 11 am today. For example, if your ancestors came from The Netherlands, you could bring banket ( Almond pastry) or something as simple as windmill cookies. Or if your ancestors are Hispanic, maybe chips and salsa. Or you could bring something that is not ethnic, but that your family enjoyed in the past, maybe popcorn? There will be 3x5 cards available for you to describe the snack you are sharing.
