ANNOUNCEMENTS Annual Reports It is time to prepare for our annual congregational meeting. Please have your annual report into the church office by Tuesday, January 17. The reports should be emailed as an attachment using size 12 font and type face of Calibri. Please do not use special characters, bullet pointers, etc. just plain text and paragraphs as the individual reports will be combined with the others into a single document for printing. If unable to email the report, place a typed copy of your report in the Office Managers box in the Communication room by Wednesday, January 11. The adult education team has purchased some Presbyterian daily devotional books, These Days, to assist you in your daily spiritual walk with Christ. Please take one from the lobby table or pass one on to someone who needs comfort! A Sign, A Name Marketing team has determined that we do need a new Church sign out front this spring. But there is a serious question being asked about considering a name change for our church. If you have strong feelings FOR a name change, please tell Pastor Karen why you want to change it and what you think the new name should be. If you have strong feelings about KEEPING our name, please also email her about that also. The deadline for official suggestions and opinions is January 8th. On Tuesday, December 6th, the Presbytery of Lake Michigan approved the motion to lease the Camp Greenwood property to the Greenwood Ministries Association for two years as this new nonprofit administers camp and creates exciting new ministries there. Over $106,000 has been pledged already to this new organization, and the summer camps for 2017 are now online and taking reservations! Just go to CampGreenwood.org to check it out! Learned from a daughter that Arlene Hughes Ruge, a member here from June 1987 to February 2001, died on November 10. Arlene had a great love for this church and wanted her friends here to know she always thought of us, especially the mission trip to Mwandi. Former Pastor Ben (Rev. Dr. Benebo Fubara-Manuel) has just been elected as the President of the Christian Council of Nigeria. In this role, he will be advising the Nigerian government on policy positions.
