J.O.Y Bicycle Ministry Group Trail Ride – Will meet at NKPC at 9:00 am and drive to Saranac Staging Area. From Saranac, the group will bicycle to Ionia on the Riverside Trail and then back to Saranac for a picnic. (Approximately 18 miles) Those who would prefer a shorter ride can be picked up at Ionia. (Kayak & Cookout too!) Deacon’s: will meet on Sunday August 21, 2016 following church at 11:15 am. Safe Haven Ministries: On July 24th we had a visit from Sarah Omicioli of Safe Haven Ministries. Safe Haven is in the midst of a fund raising campaign to build their first all on one site facility to house and care for victims of domestic abuse. During the next few weeks, the Mission Committee is asking you to contribute to this worthy cause by writing a check or using one of your many Mission envelopes marking it “For Safe Haven”. We are also having a “Reverse Offering” for Safe Haven during the month of August. Check out the easel in the Narthex. Take as many wish slips as you feel you can fulfill. Return them to the Mission box in the fellowship (T-room) by Sunday, September 4. We will deliver them that following week. Thank you for all you do! Children. All children ages 4 to 10 are invited to join the Sunday school class following the children's message. The topic is “Paul Sings in Jail” from Acts 16:16-34. Women’s Breakfast Group will be meeting Wednesday, August 17, 8:00 AM at New Beginnings Restaurant, 5200 Northland Dr. NE. Bay View Bells’ Concert: Will be held Thursday, August 18th at 8 PM at the John M Hall Auditorium, 1715 Encampment Ave. Petoskey, MI. Anyone interested in carpooling for a road trip to Petoskey for this concert contact Kathi Kishkorn (884-0356). 2016 Annual Garage Sale: will be held the 16th and 17th of September. The set up for this fantastic event will be held September 13th, 14th and 15th. Sign-up sheets will be available soon. Fishing Contest! Win $50 and honor and glory! This contest is open to everyone and runs until October 14th. Just take a picture of your catch next to a tape measure or on a scale and submit the picture to the church. We will give it a percentage score of the Michigan state record for that type. All fish must be caught in 2016 in Michigan. The highest scoring fish wins! See poster for details.
