Message from your Mission Committee: Safe Haven Ministries: The Safe Haven Ministries Reverse Offering continues through the month of August. (Do to constraints of Labor Day Weekend supplies will be collected through August 28 and delivered August 29) Check the easel in the Narthex for details and take as many wish slips from the zip lock bag as you feel you can fulfill. If you have taken a slip for something that needs refrigeration and can be frozen (lunch meat, margarine, cheese, etc.), please place that item in a well-marked container in the deep freeze in “Laura’s-Not- A-Basement”. With your help we can help ease the suffering of these families in need. Thank you. Children. All children ages 4 to 10 are invited to join the Sunday school class following the children's message. The topic is “Praising God”” from Psalm 8. 2016 Annual Garage Sale: will be held the 16th and 17th of September. The set up for this fantastic event will be held September 13th, 14th and 15th. Sign-up sheets are in the narthex. There are even income tax donor forms to use as you clean and pack up your items. This contest is open to everyone and runs until October 14th. Just take a picture of your catch next to a tape measure or on a scale and submit the picture to the church. We will give it a percentage score of the Michigan state record for that type. All fish must be caught in 2016 in Michigan. The highest scoring fish wins! See poster for details. No auditions, dues, fees, weigh-ins or background checks! Hand-bells at NKPC: Organizational meeting September 29 at 6:30 PM. Please join us as we restart the hand-bell program at NKPC. What is God calling you to do? What should we as a congregation do next? Fill out the idea generating brainstorm slip in the bulletin and put it in the offering plate or turn it in to the office. No idea is too big, small or weird. We are collecting them all! Breakfast, Lunch or Coffee? Do you eat breakfast or lunch, or drink coffee or tea? Pastor Karen would love to get to know you better and would like to have lunch or coffee with you! Men’s Fellowship: The session has approved the creation of a Men’s Fellowship with the purpose of helping the men of NKPC become better acquainted in order to better serve the mission of our church. The group would meet 8:30 – 10:00 AM on the second Saturday of each month in Fellowship Hall. A light breakfast will be served along with a short program or speaker. A donation of $5 per person at each meeting is encouraged to cover the cost of breakfast and create a small fund for future activities.
