Message from your Mission Committee: Thank you for your generous contributions of school supplies. There is nothing like a fresh box of crayons, a new sharp pencil and an unsullied notebook to brighten that first day of school. We will deliver these to the North Kent Community Services next week.
On July 24th we had a visit from Sarah Omicioli of Safe Haven Ministries. Safe Haven is in the midst of a fund raising campaign to build their first all on one site facility to house and care for victims of domestic abuse. During the next few weeks, the Mission Committee is asking you to contribute to this worthy cause by writing a check or using one of your many Mission envelopes marking it “For Safe Haven”.
We are also having a “Reverse Offering” for Safe Haven during the month of August. Check out the easel in the Narthex. Take as many wish slips as you feel you can fulfill. Return them to the Mission box in the fellowship hall (T-room) by Sunday, September 4. We will deliver them that following week. Thank you for all you do!
What is God calling you to do? What should we as a congregation do next? Fill out the idea generating brainstorm slip in the bulletin and put it in the offering plate or turn it in to the office. No idea is too big, small or weird. We are collecting them all!
Breakfast, Lunch or Coffee? Do you eat breakfast or lunch, or drink coffee or tea? Pastor Karen would love to get to know you better and would like to have lunch or coffee with you! She will be happy to travel to your home or cottage or even to bring you some lunch right to you at your place of employment! Or if you would like, invite her to meet you at your favorite restaurant or coffee shop. She is also curious about the community, so if there are people or organizations that she should know about, please organize an introduction!
