2016 Giving Envelops are available on the table in the narthex. Please pick up yours and take it home to save us the cost of postage. Thank you for continued support of our ministry at North Kent. We are grateful for the great outpouring of generosity in response to our Mission Committee’s leadership. Thank you for your gifts of new and gently used clothing items and money. There are still some opportunities to contribute to the needs of people in our community and through our Presbyterian Church Joy Offering. Winter Warmth Tree – Gently used clothing Due 1/3/16 A New Member Class will be offered on Sundays, January 3 and 10 following worship. Elders and Deacons are invited to these sessions for our officer training for 2016. On Sunday, January 10, the class will take place after the lunch which the Membership Committee will be providing. Church Nominating Committee will meet today after worship. Undecorating Party is scheduled for Sunday, January 10. The Membership Committee will provide a sloppy joe lunch for the congregation as we pack away the decorations for another year. Lunch will follow the service and undecorating will follow lunch. Thank you for your help. Photo Wall The Membership Committee has decided that a wall of photos of our church family would be beneficial to visitors, new members, and our new pastor as well. For the next several Sundays, our volunteer photographers, will be available to take pictures of you and/or your family, after church for the photo wall. But, unlike in the past we will not have these pictures for sale. Looking forward to seeing your smile, the Membership Committee. Santa Claus Girls Thank you to the volunteers who helped prepare and distribute the Santa Claus Girls Christmas gifts. JOY Bible meets at 1:15 pm Tuesdays at the church. Join us on Tuesdays as we study the book of Habakkuk in the Old Testament. This is a continuation of a study of the Book of 12 (or minor prophets). We will not meet December 29th, but will continue our study on January 5th. Come and explore the book of Zephaniah. Sunday Morning Discussion Group will begin the new year on January 24th using a highly recommended study guide provided by Presbytery. Living the Questions 2.0 is an open-minded alternative to studies that attempt to give participants all the answers and instead strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring what's next for Christianity. Featuring thirty acclaimed scholars, theologians and other experts, LtQ2 consists of 21 sessions that may be used in sequence or independently. Each discussion will begin with a brief overview, watch/listen to a video, and then discuss the focus of the lesson. The material can be discussed in the order we want, and for as long as we want, and there are no right answers or exams. Each session is self-contained and there is no homework, so one can come when they can and not be worried about being behind. Photo Collage. The PNC is looking to put together a photo collage of various events to be sent to potential candidates. Some suggestions can include hunger fast, Christmas child boxes, garage sale, cookie walk, mitten tree, rally Sunday, Easter egg hunt, sweet heart’s brunch, pumpkin patch, mom’s and munchkins, other charitable/volunteer related events, bike group, choir, etc. This week of December 27, 2015 through January 3, 2016 Sunday (27) 9:30 am Discussion Group 10:00 am Choir Practice 10:45 am Worship Service After Worship – Nominating Committee Monday (28) 10:30 am Moms & Munchkins 7:00 pm Boy Scouts Tuesday (29) 7:15 am BNI 1:15 pm No Joy Bible Study 6:30 pm No Disciple Bible Study 7:30 am Men’s Breakfast (Mr. Burger, 5181 Northland Dr.) 7:00 pm Women’s AA Wednesday (30) 8:00 am Women’s Breakfast (Real Food Café, 5430 Northland Dr. NE) 7:00 pm AA Thursday (31) 7:30 pm Choir Rehearsal 7: 00 pm Boy Scout Video Game Marathon Night Friday (1) 9:00 am Morning AA Saturday (2) Next Sunday (3) 9:30 am No Discussion Group 10:00 am Choir Practice 10:45 am Worship Service After Worship – New Member Class/Officer Training 2:00 pm Eagle Scout award ceremony for Eric Andrew Buelken of Troop 282
