Sunday will be a beautiful day in the life of North Kent Presbyterian Church. We will be ordaining and installing elders and deacons for their service to God through this church.
PNC News The PNC is again meeting every Monday evening to refine our interview questions and the job description, as well as to accumulate materials for our information packets for prospective candidates. We have reviewed several resumes and are awaiting several more from Committee on Ministry. Things are moving along and we are pretty happy with the progress we are making. Please keep us in your prayers as we get closer to the start of the interview part of the process. Thanks! Men of the Church invite the ladies to a sweetheart brunch Sunday after worship. Let’s gather in the fellowship for some great food and conversation. JOY Bible will take a short break starting on February 23 and start up again on March 22nd. One Great Hour of Sharing. Last week, we celebrated Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lent, and with that the next mission campaign, the One Great Hour of Sharing, also begins. Coin banks reminding us of the fishes and loaves, offering envelopes and calendars are available in the bank of the sanctuary. Each sharing calendar offers 4 weeks of ideas to help us reflect on the bounties God has bestowed upon us and suggestions for daily giving to those in need. Please take a calendar, bank and/or envelope, and give generously. Thank you. The First Congregational Church of Rockford has invited North Kent Church along with other area churches to a Wednesday Lenten series of conversations on some of today’s tough issues. The next conversation will be held on Wednesday, February 24: “Education on Islam,” with Ghazala Munir, Kaufman Interfaith Institute. Prayer begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by the presentation at 6:30. Please take note of the flyers on the table in the narthex which describe this series and the other speakers. A college student and member of NKPC, is requesting help to do a mission trip to a university in Florianopolis, Brazil with CRU, formerly Campus Crusade. Activities during this five week mission, May 10 to June 16, will include working with university students in the areas of prayer, ministry training, spiritual conversations, and more. The goal is to have students at the college trained to be self-sufficient and able to share the Gospel with other Brazilian students into the future.
