OUR FLOWERS Our flowers this morning are in anticipation of Spring. SOUP FOR LENT! Thanks to all who signed up to provide Soup Supper during the six weeks of lent, (which begins on March 6th). There will be no soup supper on Maundy Thursday, April 18. CAMP STAMPS! Children and Youth, do you want to go to Camp Greenwood this summer? A new system at NKPC called "Camp Stamps" will let you earn up to 100 % of the cost of your camp! Let's go to Camp! Check the insert for details! ANNUAL HUNGER FAST! ASH WEDNESDAY On Wednesday, March 6th, at 7 pm we will be participating in a combined Ash Wednesday service at Rockford United Church of Christ in downtown Rockford. We will be joined by Bostwick Lake UCC. Pastor Tom Lawton will be preaching. Come and start your lent off in a powerful way with the community. LORD’S PRAYER FOR LENT This Lent, we will seek to deepen our understanding of our Christian faith by exploring the prayer that Jesus taught us. Our worship services will focus each week on one of the themes found in the Lord’s Prayer: March 10: “Our Father…hallowed be thy name” March 17: “Daily Bread” (Sermon by Brian Beecher) March 24: “Thy Kingdom Come” March 31: “Forgive” April 7: “Temptation…Evil” April 14: “Thine is the Kingdom” (Palm Sunday) IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE 2019 CONSERVATION BANQUET, PROGRAM AND SILENT AUCTION Saturday, March 2nd 5:30 – 9:00 pm Dr. Bob Hollister will be the guest speaker describing the changes occurring in the arctic and describe the challenges and importance of arctic research. Elisa invites you to come see her award winning robot (288A) and to find out about Vex and FIRST Robotics in West Michigan. Come and bid on great items, including jewelry made by Pastor Karen. POWER OUTAGE COORDINATION In the case of the next major power outage in our area, please contact Pastor Karen if you have a spare bedroom to share or if you are in need of a guest room. We may also have the retreat center at Camp Greenwood available to us. Session has also voted to use the church as a public warming or cooling station if appropriate and available. Let's organize to reach out to our neighbors even better!
