JOY BIBLE STUDY The Joy Bible Study is back for another year of study and fellowship. Everyone is invited to join this group of "armchair scholars" as we finish our study of Genesis and delve deep into the background and the themes in the book of Matthew. Join us at 1:15 pm on Tuesdays in the conference room. Snacks provided! MISSION COMMITTEE UPDATES: We will be filling backpacks for a local foster care agency. D.A. Blodgett-St. John’s Home keeps a steady supply of age and gender appropriate backpacks for children who are new to the foster care system. Watch the table in the fellowship room for details. Please join us in this worthwhile cause. MEMORY MATTERS SYMPOSIUM sponsored by Story Point and the Alzheimer’s Association will be held on October 17 from 9 am to 3 at Thousand Oaks Golf Club. Renowned dementia voice Teppa Snow will highlight the event. Reserve your seat at 616-866-6300 by October 12. Free for caregivers and families. It is that time of year again when our congregation works together to spruce up our building and to prepare things for winter. A list of tasks both big and small will be available to choose from as well as snacks to give you the energy to put in the work. Many hands make light (and fun) work. Come and lend a hand! FLU SHOT CLINIC at Rockford Reformed Church. Wed. October 10th 5- 6:30 pm Room 141. (Next to the gym, use entrance B) --Offered by the Spectrum Health Continuing Care Visiting Nurse Association (VNA). For your health and the safety of others, the best way to prevent the spreading of flu is for YOU to get your flu shot. A Congregational Meeting will be held next Sunday after worship on October 14th to talk about the NKPC 2019 budget and our involvement in the Family Promise program for homeless families in Northern Kent County.
NKPC CLEANUP TASKS– Oct 7, 2018 All: These are the primary tasks to address, to the extent we can. Teamwork is encouraged. Inside: o Clean bugs from light fixture covers. Be careful, the covers are old and brittle. o Clean Nursery furniture, restroom and washable toys o Dust and Remove cobwebs in all window openings o Wash sanctuary windows and screens o Straighten library room books & desk o Shut off outside faucets for winter. o Vacuum pew cushions. o Bring out snow shovels & sidewalk salt buckets Outside: Whoever likes sunshine if we have it. o Empty cigarette cans near back doors and pick up butts. o Wash north outside walls for algae and mold stains. o Pick up branches, sticks and such which have fallen o Walk the property looking for trash o Trim the “suckers” at base of trees. o Pick up around waste container enclosure.
