J.O.Y. Bible Study meets this Tuesday, Nov. 12th! Join us 1:15 - 2:45 pm!
Thanksgiving Potluck! Everyone is invited to join the NKPC potluck on Thanksgiving at 2:00 pm. Bring enough food to share with our Family Promise guests and come celebrate our blessings together. The turkey will be provided, but the rest of the feast is up to you! Sign-up on the bulletin board today!
$5,000 Match for Camp Greenwood! Camp Greenwood is in need of operating funds for the rest of 2019. A generous NKPC member has stepped up and offered matching funds up to $5,000 to inspire other NKPC members to give. Currently $3850 has been donated. Can you help us meet the $5 K goal? You may either make out your check to Camp Greenwood or to North Kent Presbyterian with Camp Greenwood in the subject line. Both organizations are 501(c) 3 non profits and all contributions qualify as a charitable gift. Let's keep up the good work that God is doing through our camp!
Meijers Double Match takes place on Tuesday, December 3rd and Friday December 13th ONLY those days, ONLY at Rockford Meijer. If you purchase a Meijer gift card for North Kent Connect in any amount that day, Meijers will donate 2x the amount to North Kent Connect. (A $10 donation turns into $30.) This will enable them to purchase food for their clients. Thank you!
December 1st Decorating. Come decorate with us! On Sunday, December 1st after worship we will not only be putting away our Family Promise supplies, we will be decorating the church for Christmas. Come for a light lunch of sloppy joes and join in the decorating fun.
Annual Congregational Meeting December 8th after worship. Thank you for participating in this important administrative task.
SAVE the DATE! & EAT COOKIES!
The Santa Claus Girls Gift Delivery and the world famous NKPC Cookie Walk will be on Saturday, December 14th! Start planning now!
ATTENTION VOLUNTEERS! Laura is working on the 2020 volunteer schedule. The plan is to rotate the Nursery volunteers and counters forward two weeks so nobody is assigned the same weeks every year. The current schedule is posted near the flower chart. Please verify that you are willing to continue in your current volunteer jobs and let Laura know if you need to change anything. We will be adding the Communion Servers to the list this year. We NEED more nursery volunteers, and have openings for one or two more counters, liturgists, greeters, communion servers, and ushers. We also need substitutes who are willing to jump in as needed. Please take a few moments to check out the list and see what you are called to do to keep our church running smoothly. Please let the church office know ASAP if you need changes to your tasks or are willing to be added to the list for next year. This church runs like clockwork....but only because of each and every one who steps up to keep it going. Thanks for your willingness to help!
Family Promise...OK. the pedal is hitting the metal! Anyone who has been waiting to sign up to help, now is the time! Wendy, Laura, or Cindy will be glad to answer questions. You can help by being a host or hostess at meals, by asking the person who has volunteered to do dinner what they need help with, and signing up to be here on Saturday...or any other day on the list...just to see what is needed during that shift. Thanksgiving week requires more volunteers than any other week of the year, so please help share in this Mission opportunity. If it turns out that all of our guests have other plans for a day, which is possible, we will let you know as soon as we know that your service will not be needed. Our thanks to Tribes, which is our support church, for splitting the days and nights with us.
Family Promise donation requests are on the board in back of the church. Please take some slips home and bring your donations in next week or as requested (some items are fresh product for our hosting week). If you cannot be here in person this is a great opportunity to contribute. Let's fill the clothes basket!
