From a card received at the church:
“Dear Friends, Thank you for all you did for us and Sandy. Love, Judy and Bob”
OUR FLOWERS are given today in honor of all workers. May God continue to bless you in all that you do.
NKPC 2018 FISHING CONTEST! Our annual fishing contest is back, and this year it will be even easier to score points. We will be using Michigan's "Master Angler" records to score our fish and to compete against each other for a $50 prize and very important bragging rights! Submit your photo of your catch next to a tape measure to enter the contest. Multiple entries encouraged. Everyone is invited to participate.
MARK THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR! Thursday, September 6 will be the beginning of rehearsals for the Bell & Chancel Choirs. We are having a potluck to celebrate a new year of joyous music! Bells practice at 6 PM, followed by a Potluck for all at 6:45 and Choir rehearsal at 7:15. We welcome all who may be interested in joining us to come for fellowship, food and, of course, music!
PASTOR KAREN’S email is Pastor.firstname.lastname@example.org or REVKFL@NKP.CHURCH
Cell phone is 616-644-5122. Her office hours are Monday - Wednesday 9:30 - 3 pm. Contact her for lunch or coffee!
RALLY SUNDAY – September 9 – You are invited to share in a potluck meal with activities following the 11:00 AM Church service. The membership Committee will provide fried chicken from Jodie’s, along with drinks (coffee, tea, lemonade & water) and table service. Please sign up if you are coming and able to donate something for the meal…possibly veggies or salad, rolls or chips, a yummy dessert? Activities will be available before and after the meal.
YOUTH CREW CAR WASH – The Youth Crew will be doing a Car Wash on Rally Sunday, September 9 to raise money for a playground at the church. Please put the date on your calendar and get your cars dirty so we can clean them! No set price, just donations. Thank you!
We are starting to include younger youth in our activities, so if you have children or grandchildren who would be interested in any of the things we do, please email email@example.com and we will send you Youth Crew Invitation Cards through the mail to let you know what is happening! Our current schedule is up on the church website. Please look at it often as it could change at any time. Thank You!
All Church Campout at Camp Greenwood - If you are interested and available to go camping October 5th, 6th and 7th, please contact Pastor Karen ASAP! You may bring your own tent or camper, or if you wish, stay in one of the cabins or the air conditioned Retreat Center. The cost is determined by the number of people attending, so let Pastor Karen know ASAP!
MISSION COMMITTEE UPDATES: We will be filling backpacks for a local foster care agency. D.A. Blodgett-St. John’s Home keeps a steady supply of age and gender appropriate backpacks for children who are new to the foster care system. Watch the table in the fellowship room for details. Please join us in this worthwhile cause.
SAFE HAVEN is looking forward to a new facility with increased capacity of services for those seeking freedom from domestic violence. They expect the building to be ready for occupancy in mid-December. Their Capital Campaign has raised $4.9 million so far!
Representatives from Safe Haven will visit NKPC in October to give us an update.
THANK YOU to all who donated pantry supplies for Safe Haven Ministries! Thursday, September 13 North Kent Connect is hosting a hands-on workshop for the entire community, to provide insights on what living in poverty feels like. The poverty simulation, presented by Access of West Michigan, will take place from 2-4 PM at Bella Vista Church.
