ADULT DISCUSSION GROUP: Join Ron at 9:15 a.m. Sunday mornings for great discussion and mind stimulating conversation with the DVD study guide! “Eclipsing Empire: Paul, Rome, and theingdom of God” Join the discussion as we are led by New Testament Scholars Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan on location as they trace the Apostle Paul’s footsteps throughout the Roman Empire. This multi-session DVD and web-based study explores fresh insights into Paul’s message of the Kingdom of God, its challenge to Roman imperial theology, and the apostle’s relevance for today. Filmed in beautiful Hi-Definition across Turkey, Greece and Italy. NKPC FISHING CONTEST UPDATE: Chet is currently in the lead in Adult Division with a huge pumpkinseed entry. Colin and Nate are tied for second. Morgen is currently in the lead in Youth Division with an 18 inch largemouth bass, with Aubrey coming in second with a 16 1/4" small mouth bass. Check out the photos in Fellowship Hall. What can you enter to compete? Remember to take a photo of your fish next to a tape measure and send the photo to Pastor Karen to enter the contest. J.O.Y. Bicycle Ministry: This Saturday, Sept. 28th, we will meet at the church at 9:00 am. We will bicycle on the Musketawa Trail, followed by lunch at Bob Evans. (Please see the flyer for more details.) WE HOST OUR FIRST FAMILY PROMISE GUESTS the WEEK of 11/24/19 --THIS IS THANKSGIVING WEEK--- Family Promise North Kent IHN is coming our way, and we need all hands on deck! We are in need of volunteers of all ages to help us serve families and children experiencing homelessness. We need volunteers to help set-up rooms, make meals, serve meals, play with kids, take down rooms, and wash laundry after the week is over! Sign up for SUNDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY. Together, we can end family homelessness in North Kent! Wendy is coordinating food planning. Contact her for details. It is designed to answer all of our questions and help us better understand the program and how to interact with our Family Promise guests. While suggested for everyone, it is required for all guest interacting volunteers. See you there! LAUNDRY! PLEASE! Take home several sets of sheets or a batch of towels or some blankets and launder them, and return them to the plastic bins. (We could use a few more bins.) Please keep sheet sets together as sets...we don't have extra pillow cases! (All our linens are being temporarily staged in the tweens classroom.)
