Cookie Walk. A great big thank you to all who made our annual Cookie Walk a big success!  This is a Presbyterian Women's project, but it takes a whole church to make it happen and to be a success. Our hats are off to those cookie baker/designers who provided the product! You are truly talented. Thanks also to those who set up the tables, plated the cookies, provided the table cloths, were present before, during, and after the sales event to collect money, pass out boxes, box cookies that did not sell, etc. And don't forget our Pastor, who keeps the sign up to date and accurate and designed the delightful Cookie Walk logo. AND the cleanup crew! We are a church full of talented and willing workers.

About half of the funds collected came from donations this year, and if you have the urge to donate, it's not too late. Our PW treasurer is Deb, and she will accept cash and/or checks made out to NKPC Presbyterian Women. Or drop a check in the offering plate, with a cookie walk designation. PW will meet on a Sunday to be announced to decide which mission projects we will fund this year. Focus, of course, was on Family Promise, but we have other causes we also support.  Thanks for your help and support!

THANK YOU to all of you for supporting Family Promise/Interfaith Hospitality Network.  We hosted our first two families last week and everything worked well.  We have developed a wonderful partnership with our neighboring Tribes church and they pretty much split the duties with us.  Flexible schedules during Thanksgiving week was the biggest challenge, but everything worked out well.   The good news was that both our guest families got to spend the Holiday with their extended families, and had a warm dinner and a place to sleep the rest of the week.  The best news is that at least one of our families has found more permanent housing.  We look forward to hosting again the last week in January, probably with all new guests.  If you didn't have a chance to participate this last week, please take the opportunity to do so during one of our five 2020 rotations.  I guarantee you will feel blessed and grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand to our neighbors.

ATTENTION VOLUNTEERS! Laura is working on the 2020 volunteer schedule.  The plan is to rotate the Nursery volunteers and counters forward two weeks so nobody is assigned the same weeks every year.  The current schedule is posted near the flower chart.  Please verify that you are willing to continue in your current volunteer jobs and let Laura know if you need to change anything.  We will be adding the Communion Servers to the list this year. We NEED more nursery volunteers, and have openings for one or two more counters, liturgists, greeters, communion servers, and ushers.  We also need substitutes.  Please take a few moments to check out the list and help keep our church running smoothly.  Please let the church office know ASAP if you need changes to your tasks or are willing to be added to the list for next year.  This church runs like clockwork....but only because of each and every one who steps up to keep it going. Thanks for your willingness to help!

Family Promise...OK. The pedal is hitting the metal!  Anyone who has been waiting to sign up to help, now is the time!  Wendy, Laura, or Cindy will be glad to answer questions.  You can help by being a host or hostess at meals, by asking the person who has volunteered to do dinner what they need help with, and signing up to be here on Saturday...or any other day on the list...just to see what is needed during that shift.  Thanksgiving week requires more volunteers than any other week of the year, so please help share in this Mission opportunity.  If it turns out that all of our guests have other plans for a day, which is possible, we will let you know as soon as we know that your service will not be needed.  Our thanks to Tribes, which is our support church, for splitting the days and nights with us.

Family Promise donation requests are on the board in back of the church.  Please take some slips home and bring your donations as requested (some items are fresh foods for our hosting week).  If you cannot be here in person this is a great opportunity to contribute. Let's fill the clothes basket!

The Winter Warmth Tree arrives at NKPC on December 1st.  Please help decorate it with NEW items such as gloves, mittens, scarves, hats and other warm items for North Kent Connect this Christmas. Delivery Dec 16th.
